Your Host for Larchmont Remembered
Larchmont Remembered is written, produced and presented by Daniel F. Harrington. A graduate of the University of Rhode Island and self-described recovering politician, Mr. Harrington is a former East Providence City Councilor and long-time monthly columnist for the Providence Journal. He is the past President of Chartwell Wealth Management and currently works as a Securities Principal for MassMutual. Mr. Harrington also serves as a Director for the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame.
In 2014, Ed Achorn, editor of the Providence Journal, hired Mr. Harrington as a columnist after publishing several of his unsolicited letters to the editor. Over the next 9 years Mr. Harrington would publish an impressive 115 monthly pieces on a dizzying array of topics.

Excerpts of his piece The Gaspee, The Hero and the Dud were read on the floor of the US Senate by Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and entered into the Congressional Record. An expanded version of his Journal piece Winston Churchill in His Autumn Years was edited by Richard M. Langwoth CBE and published by The Churchill Project at Hillsdale College.

But of all the subjects he explored, the sinking of the Larchmont and his companion piece John Anson what Have you Done? haunted him throughout the years and prompted him to continue his research. Larchmont Remembered is the collective fruit of that haunting.
